House M.D. S05 E21 “Saviors”
With Kutner’s suicide still fresh, it is normal for us fans to find the show a little bit empty.
In this episode Dr. Cameron delays her vacation with Dr. Chase and chooses to stay and work a new case with the House Team, the speculation is that Cameron is still in love with Gregory but the reality is a completely different one.
While searching “socks” she (Cameron) found a ring and perceived that Chase will propose her during these vacation, she basically freaked out and doesn’t know how to deal with it.
As for the case the Team works on, it goes back to a normal case where an ecology activist gets sick and no one seems to see why, in this episode AGAIN House gets the answer by chatting with Dr. Wilson, is it just me or this way of finding out the answers for the diseases is getting kinda old?
Anyways, here is video preview for those who haven’t watched the episode yet:
Kutner Suicide and The Future of Kal Penn
Careful, SPOILER ALERT!
As I was saying on the 20th episode of the fifth season of House M.D. TV show, Lawrence Kutner commits suicide with a self inflicted gun shot to the head.
While House gets a new patient as a normal episode of the show, he realizes that Kutner is late for work and he asks about him, Taub answers that he was sick and he will be back in a while, but after a while House sends Thirteen and Foreman to check up on him.
When the couple arrives to Kutner’s apartment they find the death body of their colleague laying on the floor of this bedroom.
So the question is: Why did the write off Kal Penn’s character from the show?
The answer to that question is complicated there are many gossip websites that are relating his (fictional) death.
What you need to know is that:
- Yes, Lawrence Kutner is really death.
- No, it wasn’t the effect of Vicodin on House’s head.
- No, Kal Penn wasn’t fired, he asked to leave.
- Yes, Kal Penn is gone from the show for good.
The real reason is that Kal Penn is going after a public office in the White House in the executive building, Penn explains on an interview that he will be there as long as Obama is in office, but that this is a relative recent development.
He (Mr.. Penn) acknowledges that he will take a huge pay cut, which means that he will get paid a lot less than what he is paid for doing Kutner, he also explains that he is doing it mostly for the honor of it.
You may read the full interview with Kal Penn here.
I hope this helps since the creators of the show didn’t really explain the whole thing about Kutner’s Suicide.
House M.D. Season 5 Episode 20
Wow, I can only say WOW!
By far this was the most touching episode of the fifth season of House M.D.
[[[Attention, this post may contain spoilers]]]
Not only the way how this couple is treated but the way how the main aspects of the episode such as SUICIDE, guilt, love and death were all combined together I think this may be the next episode for consideration in all awards House M.D.
On another post we will reveal the truth about why Dr. Kutner has been removed from the T.V. Show, but giving a deeper thought to the main theme of the Simple Explanation episode of House M.D.
House M.D. 5×19 “Locked In”
In the 19th episode of the 5th season on House M.D. we can see that while Dr. House was injured on a motorcycle accident during his trip to New York he is hospitalized in the same facility as this man (Lee) who suffered a bike accident because he was unable to brake, now the patient suffers of “locked in” syndrome and the only thing he can move are his eyes, until House’s crew operates his brain and causing his absolute paralysis.
This is one of the only episodes where we can see Gregory House on a beach, since the patient (in his imagination) pictures himself walking on a beach and talking to House.
The point of view of this episode makes us think that the House M.D. TV show has a lot to explore and it will be growing instead of being “Locked” in the same old walls of the Princeton Hospital.
Taub also faces some disapproval while he is trying to keep his job on the House’s team, but House himself is not really convinced that Taub is motivated enough to keep working there and he wants to stay because of his lack of choices.
What did you think of the new episode?
Would you like to see House more often out of the hospital?
